8 Ways of T'ai Chi Chuan (TM)
T’ai Chi is known for its ability to relax and revitalize body and mind, improve circulation and balance, and develop strength in the legs and flexibility in the joints. The Eight Ways TM is a course designed to help you embody the principles of T’ai Chi through images borrowed from nature. They are easier to learn, do, and remember than the form. We will be learning several of the 8 Ways including Sculling, Wearing the Moon Like a Cap, Walking on Thin Ice, and Standing on the Edge of a Steep Precipice.
To help us learn how to use these movements in daily living, we introduce Children’s Games TM such as Slap/Unslap, Slither, Monkey in the Middle, and Eyes in the Back of Your Head.
In addition, we work with breathing and practical philosophy. This class is taught in 10 hours over 10 weeks. A mini-version can be done in less time.
