Do you treat…?

People come to me for a variety of reasons. Some come because of stress, others because of tension in neck, shoulders, back, knees, feet, etc. Because of my specific training, I work with many people who have migraines and head injuries, I also work with children who have learning disabilities, attention deficit, attachment disorders, etc. I enjoy treating newborns and welcome them into the world with soothing touch to diminish any birth trauma. This can help babies with colic, sucking and swallowing disorders, “failure to thrive,” etc. I also work with people who have digestive orders, and some lymph conditions.

Often I am asked if I have experience with a particular diagnosis. My response is that I treat people, not diagnoses. For instance, many people who have a diagnosis of migraines need to be treated in different ways. The migraine is the manifestation of the problem. But what is the problem? Where is it coming from? Also, sometimes a diagnosis is necessary in order for a client to receive insurance. Again, a diagnosis can be a description of a problem and doesn’t always talk about the source.
